Ready for Christmas?

Whew, I think that I am all ready for Christmas!! Here's a picture of what I did with all the Chex mixes that I made. I found these little ornament dishes at Michaels for $1 and put the bagged mix into the dish. I made the tags, I actually copied the idea from my friend Tammy Hellstern's blog http://www.scrappingwithtammy.blogspot.com/ I thought that they were so cute that I would use them on my goodies! I tied the baggies at the top with some of my cranberry grossgrain ribbon and viola this is what they looked like!!

I packaged it all up for all the girls that I work with and delivered them on Monday. They were a HUGE hit but now I am getting request for more mix since half of the girls husbands ate their goodies!! Men huh, can't live with them and can't live with out them!!!!

We are doing some final grocery shopping today as we are expecting 16 plus inches of snow in the next three days! Yes that is not a typo it is 16 plus inches of snow, at least that what they are saying on the news this am. I guess we will have to wait and see what we actually get, either way most of us dream of a white Christmas anyway and we for sure will get that!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all! I hope you were all good so Santa brings you everything on your list!!!

Finishing Up Christmas Gifts

Well I have been busy, busy, busy this past weekend. As you all know I HATE to bake but I love to make candy and anything that is really quick. At my cookie exchange one of my friends brought a snack called Snickerdoodle Chex Mix and it was to die for! She printed the recipe for me along with a few others and I thought that they would make great Christmas gifts for those that have everything! The best thing of all most of these were made in the microwave and took no time at all!

Here's what I made:

Chocolate Chex Caramel Crunch

Snickerdoodle Chex Mix

Chex Muddy Buddies

Caramel Corn Chex Mix

Cheesy Ranch Mix

The recipes for for all of the Chex Mixes can be found at http://www.chex.com/ and look under recipes.

The Cheesy Ranch Mix is from my friend Cathy and here's the recipe for that:

Cheesy Ranch Mix

1 box White Cheddar Cheeze Its

1 box of regualr Cheeze Its

1 bag of Cruchy Cheetos

1 bag of Pretzils

1 box Chex Cereal or Crispex Cereal

1 bottle of Orville Reddenbachers Butter Flavored Popcorn Oil

2 pkg dry Hidden Valley Ranch Dip or Salad Dressing Mix, either works fine

Mix the first 5 ingredients between 2 big bowls. Mix the popcorn oil and dry dip mix together. Pour over the 2 big bowls stirring until well coated. Put mix on a baking sheet and bake 1 hour at 250 stirring every 15 minutes. Cool and keep in tightly covered containers.

I did change the recipe up just a little, Cathy's recipe called for 1 pkg of Hidden Valley Ranch mix and I add two. I like a little more ranch flavoring then she does but either way works great. I hope you try some or all of these they are all really good and it's very hard not to sneak just a little of each one!!!

Happy Holiday's to you all!

Hollydazzle Parade and Macy's 8th Floor

I finally got to go and see the Hollydazzle Parade! Since this started I have always wanted to go and see this but I could never find any one to go with me. Most people hibernate in the cold Minnesota winter and don't want to go out in the cold. My friend Liz and her family asked if I wanted to go and of course I said Yes!

Before the parade we went to Macy's 8th floor to see "A day in the life of an Elf", which was incredible! Every year Macy's decorate their 8th floor in a Christmas theme and they go all out with moving mannequins and you even get to visit with Santa Claus!

After Macy's 8th floor it was off to Candy Land, which is an incredible candy store! They have every candy imaginable plus my favorite, Popcorn! So we all got a treat and then we were off to see the parade. This is my BFF Meghan enjoying a gummy worm!

Boy it sure was cold out but it was the best parade I have ever been too! They shut down all the street lights and the floats are nothing but lights! To start off the parade they had a float with some of the Vikings football players on it and of all the players to be there it was the William's Wall! Now they are nothing new to us because they come into Red Lobster to eat and we have all seen them before but it was really cool to see them in lights!
Each Float was a fairy tale theme and they included Pinocchio, The Wizard of Oz, Jack and Jill, Humpty Dumpty and more!

The final float was the Big guy himself, Santa Claus! It was a treat of a lifetime for me and I will never forget it!

The Parade was only a half an hour long but worth every minute! Next time I go I think that I will stand in the sky ways and be warm watching it! You know me I am a real freeze baby!
After all of the festivities we were off to Red Robin for some great burgers! What could be better than topping off the fun with food. You all know I am all about the food!
Thanks Hawley family for taking me along and remember me next year!
